TEASER

FADE IN:

EXT. CHICAGO - ESTABLISHING SHOTS - NIGHT (STOCK)

A montage of street level stock shots of Chicago. Footage
looks dated. And it should.

SU2 GRAPHIC

SPEEDS IN: "Chicago." Then "1976." The SU2 TECH FONT morphs
to '70s BLINKING NEON FONT (a la Saturday Night Fever).
Then blinks out.

EXT. STREET - ROW OF STOREFRONTS - NIGHT

Starting with an ELECTRONICS SHOP where low-tech televisions
show footage (TBD) from 1976 (I.E. Walter Cronkite, Braniff
Airlines ad, "Happy Days", Carter/Mondale debate, "Match
Game '76, "Newlywed Game" etc).

OTHER STOREFRONTS include a UNISEX HAIR SALON; SPORTING GOODS *
STORE (wooden tennis rackets, old skis and boots, wooden
skateboards); MOVIE THEATER (poster of BAD NEWS BEARS with
ticket prices: ADULTS: $1.75; KIDS: $.50)

Two STEWARDESSES, 20's and dressed in HIGH BOOTS and
stewardess uniform fashion circa 1976, walk in front of these
stores as the conversation progresses.

STEWARDESS #1
You are never gonna believe what my
boyfriend got me for my birthday.

STEWARDESS #2
Let me guess.
(optimistic; excited)
A pair of rollerskates?

STEWARDESS #1
Please. This is Lee we're talking
about.

STEWARDESS #2
(uh-oh)
A pooka shell necklace?

STEWARDESS #1
Worse.

STEWARDESS #2
Worse than a pooka shell necklace?
Jinkies. I give up.

STEWARDESS #1
A pet rock.

STEWARDESS #2
A pet what?

STEWARDESS #1
It's a rock with two eyes on it.
And all you can do with it is name
it.

STEWARDESS #2
So what'd you name this rock?

STEWARDESS #1
Hudson.

STEWARDESS #2
That gift really sucks dirt.

STEWARDESS #1
Sure does.
(pause)
So what are you doing tonight? You
want to go boogie?

Stewardess #2 looks at her mood ring.

STEWARDESS #2
I shouldn't. It's black.

Stewardess #1 nods knowingly. Stands to leave.

STEWARDESS #1
Far out. I'll catch you later.

INT. PARKING GARAGE - NIGHT

It's dark, but we see a few '70s cars. Stewardess #2 exits
the stairwell, her clicking heels echoing with each step.

CLINK!

A FRESCA can rolls out from the shadows, startling the
Stewardess. She can't see anything in the dim light.

STEWARDESS #2
Hello?

THE FLY

Masked in shadow, FLANGE hangs from his jaw. He's dressed
like the coolest, baddest drug pusher from any '70's
blaxploitation flick: leather coat with caramel sheepskin
collar, checkered velvet pants, and gold frames which our
Stewardess reflects off of. The Fly pulls a silver cigarette
case and opens it. SUGAR CUBES inside. He pops one, smiles
then licks his lips - not seductive, just creepy.

STEWARDESS

No answer from the shadows. She's spooked and runs to her --

GREEN FORD PINTO

A few bumper stickers catch our eye: SMILEY FACE, VOTE
CARTER/MONDALE, etc. The Stewardess rifles through her purse.
But she drops the bag. A tube of Bain De Soleil, and Pixy
Stix spill out. As she goes to pick up her KEYS --

THE FLY

Steps on the keys. The Stewardess tries to scream, but The
Fly's too quick and covers her mouth.

SUPER FLY
What it is, sweet thang. What it
is.

In a last ditch effort, the Stewardess swings her arms. She
knocks The Fly's GOLD FRAMES off his face, revealing BRIGHT
YELLOW INSECT EYES with MULTIPLE IRISES.

The Fly pushes Stewardess #2 to the ground, face down. Her
DOUBLE-WINGED AIRLINE BROACH falls next to her. The Fly
rips the back of her coat open, revealing PIXIE WINGS (flush
to her back, they're small, white, crystalline and fragile,
like butterfly wings.) As The Fly rips them off --
